5 Reason Why You Need A Whole House Water Systems

Are you considering installing a whole house water filtration system? There is nothing more essential to our life than water. We clean, shower, cook, clean our clothes, water our garden, and do much more with water. It’s not only important, it’s essential for our well being. Water is vital for good health. You show me someone who drinks a lot of water, and I’ll show you someone who’s healthy.

  • Regulates body temperature
  • Provides moisture to the tissues in our eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Protects our body organs and tissues
  • Carries nutrients and oxygen to cells
  • Lubricates joints
  • Flushes out waste products from our kidneys and liver
  • Makes minerals and nutrients accessible to our bodies

Who Do You Believe?

We’ve all heard the horror stories about our drinking water. During the Covid-19 crisis, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said, “EPA recommends that Americans continue to use and drink tap water as usual.” When the question was asked, Do I buy bottled water or store-bought water,” the EPA responded by saying, “The EPA recommends that citizens continue to use and drink tap water as usual.” On the other hand, you have an organization like Kaiser Health News (KHN) stating that “over a million Californians do not have healthy drinking.” Here are two very respected agencies, but obviously someone does not have their facts right. I think most Americans would tend to side with KHN.

Will Never Go Back To Tap Water

I think if we’re all honest with ourselves, we’re not going back to tap water. Either way, the facts are your municipally supplied tap water does have calcium, magnesium, fluoride, and added chlorine. While most believe that these are not bad for you, many other agencies, including the KHN, tell us that there are other contaminants that appear in our water that will negatively impact your health.

#1 Healthy Water Right From The Tap

A whole house filtration system will give you and your family safe drinking water right from the tap. The only way to tell what’s in your drinking water is to have it tested for lead and other contaminants. That holds true for well water. Can you imagine for a minute? There are no more plastic bottles, or lugging around five-gallon bottles of water. That doesn’t even address the time it takes to drive down and refill them. Your whole house filtration system will provide you with an endless flow of good tasting water. Your coffee and tea will benefit from the filtered water, as well as your cooking.

#2 Better On The Environment

Bottled water is bad for the environment. Your water filtration system means no more bottled water. All you need to do is get a glass of water right from the tap. If you’re on the run, fill your insulated water bottle, and you’ll have cold water throughout the day.

What Are Bottles Doing To The Environment?

Did you know that every second in the U.S 1000 people open a bottle of water?
Every day Americans throw away over sixty million plastic bottles.
Americans dispose of thirty-five billion bottles of water a year, and only twelve percent ever get recycled.
Eighty percent of the bottles of water we purchase ends up in landfills.
Plastic bottles have made their way into our oceans, making up ninety percent of all the floating trash.
The plastic bottles that end up in the waterways are ingested by the water animals, which is toxic.

#3 Better For Healthy Skin And Hair

While drinking hard water may be bad for your health, it’s just as bad for your skin and hair. Even low levels of chlorine can lead to dry, irritated skin. Since your whole house filtration system is installed at the point where water enters your home, every shower and faucet streams filtered water. Your skin and hair will feel the difference. You can now experience drinking water from the faucet, brushing your teeth, and bathing in a whole new way. Even your clothes will look and feel better with filtered water.

#4 Appliances Will Benefit From A Whole House Water Filtration System

Your appliances will benefit from a water filtration system. Hard water can wreak havoc on fixtures and appliances. Your water heater must have annual maintenance to remove the hard water deposits from the heater if you expect it to have a decent life span. Not so with a water filtration system, because hard water is never an issue. No more hard water deposits on your showerheads or faucets.

#5 Extends The Life Of Your Pipes

The life expectancy of your copper and galvanized steel pipes is 40 to 60 years, and that’s if the pipes were correctly installed. Hard water is one of the leading causes of pipes needing replacement. Hard water can build up in lines causing them to restrict in copper lines and can contribute to corrosion in steel pipes. A whole house water filtration system solves the problem and will extend the life expectancy of your pipes.

  1. I’m glad you mentioned that getting water from the tap is easier than always having to buy bottled water, especially if your house has a filtration system. I agree that buying fewer plastic bottles will also have a positive impact on the environment. I’m now thinking of switching my family from bottled water to filtered water and I hope I can find a good water filtration system soon.

What People Are Saying...

I called Big B's Plumbing because I the hot water would not turn off in our master bathroom. I tried to turn the valve off under the sink and it broke off, so I had to shut off the main water to the house. It was noticeable the valves were original to the home. When I called, the rep stated that I would be informed about the service tech and their experience along with services offered "On The Spot". I was on a bit of a time crunch...

Found them on Google and they had good quality reviews. Made the call and set up the appointment for same day. Dispatch called me a few hours later to confirm our appointment and let me know that the technician Mathew was on the way. This was supposed to be an easy job once Mathew arrived. But it turned out to be so much more than that. Without hesitation or a sour look on his face, he dove deep into his van...
