we have seen earlier model homes require repiping
If you need good advice and direction from a home repiping contractor Corona, right here is where you belong. At Big B's Plumbing, we take great pride in serving our customers. We're bonded, insured, and a licensed home repiping contractor meeting the needs of Corona for many years. Corona has grown to close to 500% since 1980; with that growth came track and custom homes as far as the eye can see. Many of those old homes dating as far back as the '40s are now needing to repipe their homes. While failing pipes are most common in homes 40 years and older, we've also seen earlier model homes require repiping. The issue some track homes are having is a result of poor quality copper pipes.

AquaPEX® Piping Is Used For Repiping Homes
It's only when something breaks that we jump into action, and that holds true for the pipes in our home. Most homeowners still think copper is the pipe of choice for plumbing companies. Not so any longer, Cross-Linked Polyethylene Tubing (PEX) is the latest tubing used for repiping your home. In the mid-'90s Uponor developed AquaPEX® piping for use in many plumbing applications. The product didn't pick up steam until the turn of the century, and the rest is history. The product is simpler to install because of it’s flexible, it costs less, and lasts 40 to 50 years, the same life expectancy as copper. Additionally, it can withstand temperatures of 200 degrees Fahrenheit. In the early years of the 40s, 50s, and early 60s, homeowners relied on steel galvanized pipes. Then in the 60s, copper pipes were brought in and quickly became the pipe of choice.
Copper Is Still Prefered By Some Plumbing Professionals
Some Corona repiping contractors still prefer copper over PEX, and that's OK. At Big B's Plumbing, we still have copper repiping experts for those homeowners that request copper piping. Copper is an excellent choice and is a very reliable pipe that will last 40, 50 years or longer depending on conditions. There are many reasons our pipes break down, such as high water pressure, ground movement, corrosion, and water quality. Installing a water filtration system in your home can help eliminate water quality and corrosion issues. Another benefit to copper is unlike PEX, copper can be recycled.
