We all have plumbing questions, but can you guess what the number one plumbing question is?
The number one question we get is, “Can you give me an estimate over the phone?”
At Big B’s Plumbing, we don’t like giving estimates over the phone, but in some cases, we have to. We prefer driving to your home to provide an accurate estimate after we assess the work needed. Whether we get the job or not, all our estimates are 100% FREE. Too many times we’ve given an estimate over the phone, and when we arrive at the job site, the work was not as described.
Usually, potential customers are shopping, and rightly so, everyone wants a good value. Big B’s Plumbing is not the most expensive plumber in town and by no means are we the cheapest, nor do we want to be. What I call tell you is, we are bonded, licensed, insured, and all our plumbers have workers compensation coverage. They also have had background checks. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and our reviews are top-notch.
The second most asked question is, “Can you come out now or today?”
The answer is usually, “YES,” but in rare cases, we may need to see a customer first thing the following day. Much of it will depend on the severity of the issue and the time you called. For example, our regular business hours are 8 to 5; if you call at 4:30 pm, and it’s not an emergency, your job’s handled the next business day. But our call center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for emergency plumbing services. We understand that when someone has a plumbing problem, they want to put it behind them as fast as they can. Providing our customers with fast, reliable service is at the top of our list.
Another popular question is, “How much do you charge for a water heater?”
Again this is a popular question, and we understand why. Your water heater went out, and you need a new one–––fast or you’re going to be taking cold showers. Some plumbing companies will throw you a number over the phone, and when they get there, they add this, that, and the other thing.
We prefer to go to your home and get it right the first time. Important questions to consider are when purchasing a water heater:
- What is your family size?
- What are your peak hours for hot water?
- What appliances do you run during that time?
- How many gallons of water does your bathtub hold?
- Where are the water heaters installed?
- How old is your current water heater?
Did you know most water heaters only need repairing not replacing?
At Big B’s Plumbing, we know your water heater is an investment in your home and maintained properly, it can last 15 years or longer. Taking the extra time to get it right is worth it.
A big question we often get is, “Do you fix low water pressure?”
The answer to that is a resounding “YES”. Low water pressure can come from a blockage in a pipe. A broken water pressure valve, even construction work in your neighborhood, can cause low water pressure.
“Do you repair gas lines?” is another big question.
This may come as a surprise, but many homeowners don’t know that gas lines are the responsibility of your plumbing contractor. We’ve installed gas lines for barbeques and repair them regularly.
If you have a question about your plumbing, don’t hesitate to call or email us. At Big B’s Plumbing, we love helping our customers. Also, remember our estimates and advice is 100% free whether we get the job or not.
