Home repiping can be a daunting task. Finding the right plumber is your first priority. At Big B's Plumbing Company we start with the best possible scenario first. We first look carefully and inspect every aspect of your home’s piping system. Our hope is that your whole home doesn’t need to be repiped. Then we ask the critical questions why?
- Are your pipes leaking, if so where?
- Do you hear clanging noise in your pipes?
- What is the quality of your water from your faucets?
- Is your water have a brownish look to it?
- What kind of pipes came with the home?
The answer to these questions will point us in the right direction reassuring us that your pipes need to be replaced. Bringing you quality work at a value is our top priority. We’ll inspect your home's piping. Once the problem is diagnosed we move forward.
Why Some Pipes need to be Replaced Sooner and Others Don’t?
We have many old homes in the Murrieta, Temecula, and the Inland Empire and yes those homes may need to have their pipes replaced. The main culprit is that some of the older homes built in the Inland Empire had copper pipes that ran through the foundation. Homeowners will then be faced with a choice, first to replace the leak in the slab hoping another leak will not reoccur. Second, would be to repipe the home which solves the problem completely.
In very few cases have we seen galvanized pipes installed but it does exist and after 30, 40, or even 50 years the pipes need replacing. Galvanized pipes last 20 to 50 years. Copper pipes last 20–50 years unless installed underground. So why do some pipes need to be replaced sooner and others don’t? Usually, it will depend on the mineral content in your water, and the quality of craftsmanship last performed on your home.
The Inland Empire is well known for hard water with both magnesium and calcium. which can build up in your pipes. Having a water softener will increase the longevity of your pipes. For some of us that want a complete picture of guidelines for old piping in our home, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development puts out a free download Residential Rehabilitation Inspection Guide. If your home repiping is the only option, Big B's Company has the experienced plumbing team ready to meet your demand.
