My Dream Bathroom And Money Is No Object

Big B's Plumbing - Your Plumber for Life!

Wow, let’s all dream for a moment and think about what your dream bathroom would look like. Not only do you get to build your dream bathroom, but you also have no end to a budget. Regardless of the budget, I do have a practical side so I wouldn’t install something just because it was expensive. It would have to make sense. Additionally, I have a strong concern for the environment so I wouldn’t install water-wasting fixtures. Here are the rules for building your dream bathroom. You must have at least two sinks: shower, toilet, and a bathtub are optional. Other than that, the sky’s the limit. I’m ready to get started.

I Chose A Bronze Graff Vintage Thermostatic Shower Set

I’m going to start with the shower area and work my way forward. I’m looking online for some bathrooms that I can model mine after. As far as color goes, I’m leaning toward the brown tones, although the light gray against black looks good too. I ended up settling in on the brown tones because I found a rustic tile I liked for the shower area. Since money is no object, I choose a bronze Graff vintage thermostatic shower set with a hand shower included. The cost is $1,875–––it’s nice to dream. The showerhead uses 1.8 gallons of water a minute, and it comes with all the latest technologies.

Dreamline Single Frameless Shower Doors

Now I need to decide on a shower door.  I like the Dreamline single sliding frameless shower door with Clearmax™ technology. The cost is $680. After looking at many shower doors, I choose the clear frameless because I think it looks so elegant, and the clear glass will show off the craftsmanship of the tiles.

My Dream Bathrooms Bathtub Cost Over $19K

Now I need to choose the bathtub. Without question, I select TOTO’s newest product called the floating tub. This is a $19,000 plus marble-covered bathtub meant to mimic zero gravity. The tub has jets placed at the bottom of the tub that gives you the feeling of floating in space. Other features include LED lighting and a built-in pillow with a faucet designed to pour water around your neck. To get the real feel for the bathtub, watch the video.

I Have To Have The Toilet And Bidet

For the toilet, I’m going to match the toilet with the bathtub. So I’m going with the TOTO Neorest 1.0 / 0.8 GPF dual-flush one-piece elongated chair toilet. The cost $3,360.

The features include:

  • Bidet seat designed with rear cleanse, soft rear cleanse, front cleanse, oscillating, and pulsating spray with water pressure and temperature control
  • Three years limited warranty
  • Contemporary skirted design toilet conceals the trapway
  • Is a universal height toilet
  • Built-in nightlight fills the bathroom with a soft, illuminating glow
  • Includes multifunction, illuminating remote control and mounting hardware with two user memory function
  • ADA compliant
  • Dual-nozzle bowl cleansing – creates a centrifugal force to wash away tough jobs more efficiently and proactively helps conserve water
  • Auto open and close lid along with auto flush functions and sanitation to enhance the overall experience
  • Automatic air purification system removes odors
  • The washlet performs a pre-mist of the bowl before each use to help prevent waste from adhering

The Sinks And Faucets Are The Final Touch

For the faucets, I decide on a dark bronze matte Dornbracht Single-lever bathroom faucet to match the shower. The single lever faucets are much easier to clean around. With all the money I just spent, you would think I have someone to clean the bathroom for me. Lastly, for my sinks, I would go with a classic hammered copper bathroom sink. The copper goes well with the bronze matte. There you have it, my dream bathroom! Now it’s time for you to dream a little.

What People Are Saying...

I called Big B's Plumbing because I the hot water would not turn off in our master bathroom. I tried to turn the valve off under the sink and it broke off, so I had to shut off the main water to the house. It was noticeable the valves were original to the home. When I called, the rep stated that I would be informed about the service tech and their experience along with services offered "On The Spot". I was on a bit of a time crunch...

Found them on Google and they had good quality reviews. Made the call and set up the appointment for same day. Dispatch called me a few hours later to confirm our appointment and let me know that the technician Mathew was on the way. This was supposed to be an easy job once Mathew arrived. But it turned out to be so much more than that. Without hesitation or a sour look on his face, he dove deep into his van...
