I Was Born To Be A Plumber!

Have you ever met someone that was born to do something? Maybe that person was a plumber, electrician, or auto mechanic? As I start to get older, I have the privilege of seeing young men and women earn their degrees, sign up for the electrical unions, or start their training to become a plumber. The ironic thing is, only 27% of college graduates work in a job that’s related to their major. 80% of college students end up changing their major at least once. It’s all about finding our way in life, and whether you choose college or trade, it’s all honorable work. I met a manager at a plant nursery the other day who ended up in the business world after college. He said, ” I was making six figures, but I wasn’t happy.” He went on to tell me, “I wanted to be outside and not behind a computer, so I started over and began a trade-in nursery management.” I told him it was all about the journey.

It’s Who I Am, My Calling, My Life, And My World

At Big B’s Plumbing, we have plumbers that started from the bottom and now have successful plumbing careers. They were just born to be a plumber. The plumbers we have far exceed the skills to repipe a house or install a trenchless sewer line. They also have strong people skills, good manners, articulate in speech, as well as all the plumbing skills. I saw a sweatshirt on Amazon the other day that pretty much summed it up. It said, “I was born to be a plumber, to fix, to maintain, to help, to build, to inform, it’s who I am, my calling, my life, and my world.”
